i thought the covers for 'The last Broadcast' and 'Heathen Chemistry' were fuckin absymal tho - real 5 minutes in photoshop stuff - shudder to think how much someone got paid for doin that - then again all they did for Boards Of Canada's was blank out the faces - but its what that suggests and how it fits with the music on the album that makes it a classic cover

Half the time it's just records that you always see in stores and have some sort of respect for: you flip past once a week and after a while it's like gah, there you are, looming significantly out of the rack.
Thus: Loveless, obviously. I agree with Rooty and Music Has the Right to Children, the latter of which sometimes makes it seem like the haziness and blurring are actually happening in your world and not on the paper. The Fischerspooner record does not seem "classic" to me in the least but every time I see it I do get that "whoah, there you are" feeling.

In either case, I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Chris Cunningham made Aphex Twin covers... or even Marilyn Manson's "Mechanical Animals" or Brainiac's "Hissing Prigs In Static Coutoure"
