one year passes...

I have noticed lately youtube is not caring at all if you just upload full albums and songs in good quality for people to download - Napster returns??

I tried to upload a video of J0ey R4mone and H0lly B3th V1ncent performing "1 G0t Y0u B4be" on the Uncl3 Fl0yd Sh0w, but it got pulled literally the instant I uploaded it, even when I gave it a fake title. how does that even happen? there multiple uploads of the studio version of that song (just the audio) on youtube, and they've all been up on youtube for months/years. it seems like audio rips stay up longer than live video clips, but I don't know why.

those youtube [HQ] FULL ALBUM videos are weird. do people actually listen to albums just on youtube, or do they rip the audio to and listen to them as one big 45-minute-long file on their itunes/ipod? there's one weird dude on the rateyourmusic forums who makes excel sheets with tracklistings of entire albums and includes a youtube link to each song next to the track name. that's how he does his music listening! how can people live that way?

I don't "live that way," but while I'm at work and posting about Zappa on ilm it's kinda cool to be able to listen to the entire Absolutely Free.

The specifics are these, which is those principles I described (Dan Peterson), Monday, 10 September 2012 17:44 (thirteen years ago)

ok, well I won't be too hard on you as long as it's not OK Computer.

I often listen to full albums on youtube - its nice - no commercials

I've found it handy for albums I've been curious to hear but which aren't on Spotify.

I think the full album thing is pretty handy. My work blocks Spotify but not YouTube for some reason and I had the itch to hear Kimono My House...and there it was, because I neglected to put it on my ipod. Perhaps it's not an ideal listening experience but listening to music at work with my ear buds never is.

(xpost) Yeah, I've been using it mainly for Zappa bootlegs lately.
