Do Not Under Any Circumstances Listen To It

OK I am serious. This is the worst thing ever. There have been some awful things done in the name of music but this is IT. As I am usually the last to hear something that's already made all the email rounds this may be old news to everybody. But the question is moot because you must not listen to it. I post the URL only so that you'll know what to avoid.

Do Not Under Any Circumstances Listen To It

OK.

Jody Beth Rosen, Friday, 23 August 2002 21:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Don't listen to this under any circumstances either.

"Why did you kill me mommy?"
Because theres nothing we hate more than Howie Mandell doing his impersonation of "Look Who's Talking."

Jodi Beth, I followed that link to go and not-listen to the song but I got a "page-not-found." I was very diasppoin...relieved I mean. Yet having read the lyrics thereof I must demand that a bootleg of the two be made post-haste.

No idea what happened with my name up there.

Try this. I mean, don't.

Ooooh Jody Beth that thing is hateful.

J0hn Darn1elle, Saturday, 24 August 2002 01:26 (twenty-three years ago)

The sad thing is he sounds like Grover on helium or the vocalist on "Digital Love" on quaaludes. Universe: plz delete humanity.

Jody Beth's recommendation makes me laff. AT THE FOLLIES OF OTHERS.

Anyway, I think it's time for some GIANT TICKLE FEATHER fun! And you can read the lyrics here for your elucidation.

Sangiovese Darnielle has a nice ring to it. You should be doing old Al Martino songs.

A bunch of good'uns from Incorrect Music:

GE's "Got to Investigate Silicones"

Lionel Davis' "Candy Pants"

Mae West and Timothy Dalton, "Love Will Keep Us Together"

Jody Beth Rosen, Saturday, 24 August 2002 02:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Correction: That song from the GE industrial musical is called "The Answer." The name of the musical is Got to Investigate Silicones.

Mae West and Timothy Dalton, "Love Will Keep Us Together"
Oh NO! Sextette! Oh NO!

The Dirty Duck version is fantastic. In a horrible and sick way of course.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHH!

You warned me, J0hn. You warned me.

Dear god, if the song wasn't just so interminably LAME in all aspects, I might have been more horrified.

Sorry, Jody, but the Brittney track is like a rich, delicious treat in comparison. In fact, I don't even mind it that much.

donut bitch, Saturday, 24 August 2002 19:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh, I don't know, db. That Brittney thing reveals its secrets over repeated listenings -- starting the chorus of a pop song "Hey LOL/g2g" is a pretty immortal move in the Songs That Would Rightly Signal the Apocalypse Were There Going to Be One sweepstakes.

Of course there is room for all different flavors of awfulness. Anybody gets ahold of a band from the 80's called the Rhode, do put it up; that stuff stops time.

I love "IM Me" but it's a shame the pun "I am me" is not explored. The spoken parts and the line "It's easier to type than use a pen" are priceless...I'd like to hear it sung by a middle-aged man though.

"Unborn Child" is a laff riot until the scripture kicks in.

Didn't Pink already render this joke irrelevant with "Don't Let Me Get Me"? That was 20x more clever.
