Did you end up downloading anything, Gareth?

― Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Monday, 26 August 2002 11:31 (twenty-four years ago)

yes, i did a few downloads but many would not work (including your recommendation fritz), the only track from the above ethat i successfully downloadec was:

m.mayer falling hands

which i thought was kinda ok, but didn't really capture my imagination or anything. some of the things on the list i already had but most i am still ignorant of (although i get the feeling some of the suggestions weren't entirely serious)

― gareth (gareth), Monday, 26 August 2002 16:06 (twenty-four years ago)

I change my suggestion to At Night by Shakedown.

― Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 26 August 2002 16:37 (twenty-four years ago)

already got that

― gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 27 August 2002 06:53 (twenty-four years ago)

i don't know u or ur tastes gareth, but reading the suggestions (the ones i know, actually) i don't think u r a 'rock'-fan... nevertheless, i suggest doin' the cockroach by modest mouse. it's rock, but also dancable/singalongable/air guitarable... FUN! (maybe even ur parents want to join in!)

― willem, Tuesday, 27 August 2002 11:03 (twenty-four years ago)

haha! looking at the suggestions, i'm not sure anyone. knows my tastes!

― gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 27 August 2002 11:08 (twenty-four years ago)

I second "Come To The Sabbat"!

As mentioned on the Dancehall thread, Breeze's "What Di Hell"

― Tom (Groke), Tuesday, 27 August 2002 11:10 (twenty-four years ago)

its too late now, i'm back in london, although you could keep the suggestions coming, for when i go back next time. i tried to d/l general levys taliban slam tom, but couldn't get it, i did get bounty killer doing the taliban though, that was quite good. haha, 'doing the taliban'!!! i like the idea of "lets taliban again, like we did last summer..."

― gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 27 August 2002 11:18 (twenty-four years ago)

― christhamrin (christhamrin), Thursday, 22 January 2004 11:23 (twenty-two years ago)

four months pass...

well, strangely enough, i was just thinking about this, and im here again, at my parents, and i'd like you to recommend me stuff again, though not to download, as the pc is too slow and old for that, but to buy.

1. some boredoms/ghost/amon duul2/harmonia/can/vibracathedral type stuff, interpret as you wish

2. really heavy electro, sort of like the ruggedest jeff mills stuff, but electro. it can be really gay and camp too though, but its got to have ruff-yet-cold beats

― charltonlido (gareth), Friday, 28 May 2004 22:42 (twenty-two years ago)

i just remembered, i didnt live anywhere when i started this thread, so being at the parents for a weekend meant a rare opportunity to hear something new. which means, i still havent heard many of the suggestions on this thread. maybe, when i get back to london...

― charltonlido (gareth), Friday, 28 May 2004 22:46 (twenty-two years ago)

"I hate Milk" by Air Miami

― Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 28 May 2004 23:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I've been listening to Dizzy Gillespie all day and night, so I'll say "Cool Breeze" or "Anthropology" (preferably the 78 rpm versions -- in more ways than one! -- from the 'Complete RCA Victor' joint).
