Not heard the other bonus tracks on the deluxe edition but Sylvie means so much to me that I can't ever imagine one of them besting it. Lovely tune - makes me think of my niece (not the story behind the lyrics btw - just the main chorus refrain)

I worked with this delightful queen in 2001 whose sugar daddy introduced him to Saint Etienne, and every night he'd play Good Humor at least once. I can still see him shimmying up to me while "Lose That Girl" played.

The bonus tracks made up pretty much a second album (Fairfax High) as good as Good Humor is. I voted for Madeline, which isn't really on Good Humor.

'been so long' is probably my favorite out of all the tracks but they're all good-to-great

Can't think of a good reason to not vote Sylvie, but yeah these are all great.

Woodcabin

Mr Donut. A wonderful song about homesickness.

I've been dancing since 9 and I'm tired and hungry (Dorianlynskey), Sunday, 30 January 2011 19:43 (fourteen years ago)

Though the Kid Loco-remixed 4.35 would be close behind.

No shortage of gloriousness here--went for "Dutch TV," which took a few years to creep up on me. "Get a room, fanboys!"

This is difficult, I have so many favourites. I'm going to pick "Afraid to Go Home" though, just because it's tied in with some really good memories of the holiday I spent in the summer of '98. I mean I had the whole album with the singles' b-sides on cassette playing on my Walkman, but that's the song that I most associate with that time for some reason. It has some good StEt nonsense lyics too, "Leaves are green/Like tamborines".

Goodnight Jack just over Postman.

Don't know the deluxe tracks, but what an extraordinary album this is.

Really like "Woodcabin" and "Dutch TV," but would probably have to pick from one of the bigger or less minimal numbers for my favorite. That would include "Sylvie," "Split Screen," "Mr. Donut," "Lose That Girl" and "Erica America," and that would be a tough choice!

My "Afraid to Go Home" vote didn't register - or, more likely, I forgot? Slightly surprised at "Sylvie" winning, but then again I don't know what another big consensus pick would be.
