Venetian Snares is a Paradinas project, isn't it? I've only heard a little bit, what what I've heard I like - very Aphex-ish drill'n'bass but with quite a bleak sound to it. Some of it, I've been told, borders on the unlistenable, though.

Try downloading 'Pygmalion' for starters.

we might be putting venetian snares on in london or sheffield, so you can come and see for yourself! sort of gabba tinged almost-undanceable stuff. through a massive soundsystem it sounds pretty hardcore.
dont know how we can get one of those though.

one year passes...
Ambrose, are you still organising Gabba/IDM nights? If so, Autofire would really like to play. Mail me - dog_latin@hotmail.com

Detrimentalist = same headfuk, different day, but I quite like it.

.

no, it's not a Paradinas project. the man behind the Snares is Manitoba-based malcontent Aaron Funk.

has no one corrected this in six years? really?

not expressly a C/D or S/D thread, but i'll say that the darker-themed Hymen albums and the Hungarian classical-influenced stuff - Rossz Csillag Alatt Született, My Downfall [OST - is all quite excellent. the rest of it? a little of his splattery breakcore goes a long, long way.

Best thing he's done yet: "Horse and Goat"

was that the Sublight EP? liked the Trevor Brown artwork, but can't say the music did much for me at all. VSnares-by-numbers.

Mr. Hal Jam, Wednesday, 2 July 2008 03:53 (seventeen years ago)

is he still pumping out mentalist ultra-distorted drill'n'bass?

The new one is (kenan OTM) but he has diversified. 'My Downfall', which I've not actually heard, was string-based mainly, and the 10" he did last year w/ Black Sabbath dubstep versions is totally worth hearing
