Bit of an odd one this, maybe but it's on my mind this evening.
Have you ever heard a song and thought "man, how cool would it be if X band covered this?" (or "how cool would it be if X collborated with Y?") and then some months/years later it actually happened?
Two examples:- heard "Alone Again Or" by Love. Thought to myself "I could hear the Boo Radleys doing this, that'd be cool". Then later discovered they DID.- discovered the Throwing Muses when they first started, and thought "man I would love to hear her duet with Michael Stipe!". Then many years pass and she does "Your Ghost", with Stipe on backup vox.
Any other examples?

p. much in application all 80's ephemera bands...dum dum girls, etc: joy division
it's like the hippest new band to be into of late. there are skate shops around town selling jd t-shirts and it really made me groan. urban outfitters as well.

Marianne Faithfull should cover the astounding 'Mona Lisa Talking,' from Al Stewart's unheard 2005 album 'A Beach Full of Shells.' To my knowledge no one has given this luminous song any attention whatsoever. PS I love Marianne's new album, Horses And High Heels.

I thought I made it reasonably clear? You hear a song. You think "it would be cool if this other band covered this song!" and then somewhere down the line that ends up happening (or it turns out it already had and you didnt know).

I dont mean anyone covering it. I am referring to wanting a SPECIFIC band to do a specific cover.
