Some examples for starters: Darling Buds, The Primitives, Popguns, The Parachute Men (so many bands starting with P?), heck even Transvision Vamp. Search and Destroy.

"Pop Said" still sounds bloody fantastic, by the way.

Chris Roberts loved them all. No one else did.

You picked all the good ones. Nina Hagan?

Letters to Cleo was around in 1990... that's like the late 80's...

Actually I started the thread just so I could talk about the Parachute Men, who I've been getting back into lately and who still had some very excellent singles, the "Bed & Breakfast" 12" being my first foray into obscurish girly fronted pop..

werent Daisy Chainsaw (love love love all your money!) fronted by a blonde lass? maybe i'm just mixed up with Wendy James but they seemed similar...

Daisy Chainsaw (now Queen Adreena): Good.

Transvision Vamp: Bad.

The Primitives are also GRATE. undecided on Darling Budds.

Destroy: Lava Hay.
Search: TPOH (okay so it was a blond guy who looked a bit like a girl with two girls behind him).

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 27 August 2002 11:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Brunettes and Redheads > Blondes.

Lord Custos Alpha (Lord Custos Alpha), Tuesday, 27 August 2002 14:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Bonnie Hayes & Wild Combo: KEEP, perhaps. Does Lush fall under this category? If so, KEEP.

Whatever happened to Katie Jane Garside (Daisy Chainsaw) anyway? I know she left the band and that's why there was never a second album, but I would have thought she'd get something else going by now. Maybe she's hiding in the same place Lee Mavers is.

Did you not read? She's in Queen Adreena.

Umm... Voice of the Beehive? Fuzzbox?(??)

DavidM (DavidM), Tuesday, 27 August 2002 15:55 (twenty-three years ago)

she does have something else - as was mentioned earlier in the thread she's fronting Queen Adreena now.

kill switch, Tuesday, 27 August 2002 15:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh, please excuse the obtuse nature of my statement. Since I'd never heard Queen Adreena, I just assumed that was in reference to the rest of the members of tbfka Daisy Chainsaw.

This will merit investigation.

paul cox, Tuesday, 27 August 2002 16:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Harriet Wheeler and the Sundays. Harriet sounded blonde I think even if she wasn't.
