rae & ghost have weird stilted flows on this that i think are kinda wack

i love how rae's verse starts off with him just like, sputtering, perhaps bullets bust all those hard consonants crammed in together. the rae verse is so dense & yet so large in scope in terms of the images, it's like the entire trap house, the process going on inside, the kids outside & old niggaz just passively observing it all, police circling the area.

feel part of what makes nas' verse is so majestic & great is it consistently has these symbols of, like, old spiritual/religious tradition & language popping up, "unfold the scroll", "until the beast arise", "savages", "gold leaf," "ritual," like it all feels really mythic and powerful. just one of the greatest verses of all time

ghost's verse is weird but still really great, one of the interesting things he does as a writer is use of the second person, so it's as if he's placing you within the story, & yet the whole thing is so abstract. even though it's vivid it's not lucid at all in terms of narrative or what is even going on & i think it has a cool effect, almost like disorienting dream imagery, some gangster night mare or w/e. can't remember if it was ilx or just something a friend of mine said but someone once said ghost was like joe pesci in goodfellas of wu tang & that's so true here in the now, i'm bangin niggaz for slide time hurry up duke let's show em mine--AND WHAT THE FUCK IS YOU LOOKING AT?" just get this manic, violent unhinged vibe

ghost's always confuses me because i think that the "see 2pac" line means he's going to kill them, but i have to remind myself its all about fucking up and going to jail, which is cooler.
