Bon Jovi - "In My Arms" vs. Rufus Wainwright - "11:11"

The latter's verses are very similar to the former's - the chord sequence seems to be the same, and the guitar plucks a very similar melody. From there, BJ go for the big anthemic chorus, whereas Rufie's song develops into one of his most deliciously refined efforts. I go with Rufus, but "In My Arms" is probably one of Bon Jovi's less unbearable songs - though I haven't heard it in a long while.

not that he isn't still occasionally good, but those first two records were so so good compared to everything that's followed.

Whoops, the Bon Jovi song is "In *These* Arms", come to think of it. Perhaps a moderator could fix it, if such is their desire.

I have never understood in a million years the antipathy to Want One. So much great stuff on it. Want Two was quite patchy, admittedly, and Release The Stars was where my interest waned, but I find the "only the first two albums are allowed in to the tree house where the cool kids hang out" consensus rather curious.
