Bittersweet sensation.

it also takes hip-hip with it (Eric H.), Tuesday, 22 March 2011 11:36 (fourteen years ago)

This is really sad. "Ride On Time" was one of the "gateway drug" records that got me into house and techno as a kid, which set me on the path to producing and remixing as an adult.

Rest in peace, ma'am.

I had to double-check that it was her, but "Good Vibrations" was a pretty good record too. Not as good as the Black Box singles, but not bad.

is it heretical to prefer "Ride On Time" and "Good Vibrations" to "Love Sensation"? Call it nostalgia, etc.

Rich Lolwry (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 22 March 2011 22:32 (fourteen years ago)

Not in the least although for me "Ride on Time" >> "Love Sensation" >> "Good Vibrations."

RIP.

And yet she remains kind of immortal in that she was first and foremost famous for old recordings of her singing voice being cut and pasted into new pieces of music.
