Well, if you've ever worked in one of those factories or warehouses where they have feckin' Capital Radio rotating the same eight imbecilic songs all week, then the answer is clearly 'not music'.

But seriously folks, the "musicality" of a piece is the last thing I care about at the moment. Just want to listen to glacial textures, big spaces and blocks of sound at the mo. Would argue that this is all Music, really. Would argue that Music, like Art, is just a way of perceiving, really. But in the context of this question Not Music feels like the way to go.

Guys it is so easy music is things like Beatles and x-ray spex and captain & tennille and not music is things like body organs and prefabricated countertops and smoked salmon and many other things.

Is Not Music a reference to the last Stereolab album? It's pretty good, but maybe not comparable to music as a whole.

If somebody drops large blocks of stone from the roof of a skyscraper, it would suck badly and I'd advice you to seek cover. But even though the stoneblocks come from the same direction as rain or snow usually does doesn't mean I'd classify the stoneblocks as "weather".

A more interesting listen at least. The lyrics and some of the production details. Still not sure if I consider them to be music, but if you view them as another art form, it has some interesting aspects as a stand-alone art form.
