I won a Boy Scout talent show lip-synching to "Sara" when I was 13.

Really, I look back on my life and I'm shocked and amazed I wasn't in more fights.

the really punchable thing was that there were two of us and we had an entire choreographed routine that went along with it

DJP that sounds like the kind of thing I wanted to do in 4th grade, but I could never find anybody else to do it with

I remember wanting to lip-sync to Michael Bolton's "How Can We Be Lovers?" but couldn't find anyone else to be in my 'band'. Ended up spending the talent show hiding in the principal's office.

the line "I'll never find another girl like you" had us miming the lines a woman's curvy body and then pointing at the audience, but about halfway through my partner in crime decided that he would rather trace out a giant triangle, representing a woman's pubic hair

he's a minister now

What? No "We Built This City"? :)

Voted "Sara" anyway. "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" is not only a disgrace to Grace Slick (Disgrace Slick? ;) but also the worst thing Narada Michael Walden has ever been associated with.

"If this world runs out of lovers, we'll still have each other" = "fuck the haters"

soggy cardboard vs cardboard

did you notice "you spin me round" was playing in the background? (snoball), Thursday, 24 March 2011 08:56 (fourteen years ago)

Sad really what became of a once great band. Airplane are mostly good, though i hate Joey Covington. Spencer Dryden is one of my fav drummers.
Covington left, John Barbata came in, the band became Jefferson Starship put out 3 good lps I think, adopted its name from a Paul Kantner solo lp with some merit, though not entirely successful.
A decade later they dropped the Jefferson part of the name and put out a load of dross. Have heard they've been back to being pretty ok since around the turn of the millenium though.
