nme's review of the music's album mentions 'wank' three times in about 200 words

first; the review is pro-po-face nonsense - as if a yorkshire accent is enough to prevent pretentionsness! tell that to a bunch of pakistanis striding in dewsbury reciting tupac lyrics! tell that to nuveaux riche pretending the river aire smells better than the thames! fucking hell. the north's full of just as much shit as anyone else.

and secondly, perhaps more petinant to ile, isn't wanking kind of pleasant? there are better options, but it's better than a fork in the eye.

Yes, but were safe until it mentions Goat Wank.

are you saying ile wanks more than nme? and if you are, why post this on ilm?? are you sowing sly dissension?

The reviewer certainly seems to have knocked one out.

cos wanking is more to do with everything than it is specifically to do with music. i'd guess most people's time's split right down the middle.

here's a peculiar think; a wank is quck an efficiant. with a full fuck, you'll get an intro, verse chorus verse, and a middle eight if you're lucky.

Wanking is only pleasant for one person. It's a selfish act. But a damn good one.

The lead singer from the music looks like a dwarf with some bizarre bone condition in his face.

Just read the review. Christ, who's holding the gun to Dalton's temple as he writes *that* garbage?

Wanking is NOT only pleasant for one person. Any man who's ever watched a woman engage in 'quiet time' knows full well it's great to watch.

The Music's single sounds like some ungodly cross between "The Second Coming" and the Ret Hot Chilli Peppers. Worst single of the Year?

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Thursday, 29 August 2002 20:13 (twenty-three years ago)

The Music are just awful. There is no point debatiing the rights and wrongs of the review.

Worst band of 2002 perhaps?

i'm ganging up on the pair of you - i like 'Take The Long Road..' and i like 'The People'...which means I like The Music and think they're rather good.

and i believe they were the 9th best new band of 2001

blueski, Thursday, 29 August 2002 21:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Even before I heard them, I knew I'd hate them. I bet they thought they were clever calling themselves (the people) "The Music" and calling their songs (the music) "The People". Well, it isn't clever.

And the music! Jesus Hates Rice! It's horrid. Kilian's description of "Take The Long Road.." is so OTM - it also applies to every single other one of their songs too. Worst single of the year? Oh yes. Unquestionably.
