I don't think I've heard any of those songs. I'm totally out of the loop.

Algerian Goalkeeper, Sunday, 3 April 2011 18:33 (fourteen years ago)

27 Birdy Skinny Love

J0rdan S., Sunday, 3 April 2011 18:35 (fourteen years ago)

J0rdan S., Sunday, 3 April 2011 18:35 (fourteen years ago)

Album charts (Adele at #1 & 2) http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chart/albums

Algerian Goalkeeper, Sunday, 3 April 2011 18:35 (fourteen years ago)

No idea j0rdan im guessing some dance thing

Algerian Goalkeeper, Sunday, 3 April 2011 18:36 (fourteen years ago)

this is list is pretty uninspiring... "black & yellow", "buzzin" and "coming home" are the best songs (and maybe that adele ballad)

pretty lol @ the MANN song being so big there

J0rdan S., Sunday, 3 April 2011 18:36 (fourteen years ago)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNzCDt2eidg

it is a cover of Bon Iver by a 14 year old. (not heard the original btw)

Algerian Goalkeeper, Sunday, 3 April 2011 18:37 (fourteen years ago)

i was kinda hoping for a cartoon tbh

J0rdan S., Sunday, 3 April 2011 18:38 (fourteen years ago)

this is actually a pretty cover

J0rdan S., Sunday, 3 April 2011 18:39 (fourteen years ago)

1. broken record
2. black & yellow
3. coming home
4. don't hold your breath
5. on the floor
6. rolling in the deep
7. sweat (not the david guetta remix)
8. down on me
9. only girl (in the world)

bun the rest

lex pretend, Sunday, 3 April 2011 18:40 (fourteen years ago)

katy b is the best by quite some way

lex pretend, Sunday, 3 April 2011 18:40 (fourteen years ago)

ugh Within Temptation have went in the album charts at #23. Now we're going to have a bunch of shitty goth/folk/pagan metal bands hitting the UK.

Algerian Goalkeeper, Sunday, 3 April 2011 18:42 (fourteen years ago)

Skinny Love just sounds like some Damien Rice song anyway

OH RICHEY, WHY. (PaulTMA), Sunday, 3 April 2011 18:43 (fourteen years ago)

this is actually a pretty cover

― J0rdan S., Sunday, April 3, 2011 2:39 PM (1 minute ago)

^^

fucking _great_. tempted to say it's as good, if not better, than the original

markers, Sunday, 3 April 2011 18:43 (fourteen years ago)

I really like that Cee-Lo song. Swaggers.

Pop is superior to all other genres (DL), Sunday, 3 April 2011 18:50 (fourteen years ago)

Noah and the Whale L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.

^^^this sounds like the worst on the list

PΓ☼LΞG☼ (prolego), Sunday, 3 April 2011 18:55 (fourteen years ago)

I don't know what most of these are tho I probably know a few more of them than I recognise. Definitely like "Someone Like You", "Just Can't Get Enough" and "Only Girl in the World", voting for the Adele song. Yeah I was shocked too.

Boobage Dirtbag (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 3 April 2011 18:57 (fourteen years ago)

the noah and the whale song itself isn't the worst but the singer has a really terrible voice -- like not even just annoying sounding like some indie singers, but he actually can't sing in a noticeable way imo

J0rdan S., Sunday, 3 April 2011 18:58 (fourteen years ago)

i haven't heard all of them, including that noah & the whale song, but it'll take some doing to outdo "firework" for worst

lex pretend, Sunday, 3 April 2011 19:05 (fourteen years ago)

most underrated around here is probably scherzinger, even ilm's most ardent pop fans don't seem to care about her (their loss! her album's better than britney's)

lex pretend, Sunday, 3 April 2011 19:05 (fourteen years ago)

it's because she has zero presence in the US

J0rdan S., Sunday, 3 April 2011 19:07 (fourteen years ago)

i didn't even know she had an album out

J0rdan S., Sunday, 3 April 2011 19:07 (fourteen years ago)

she does, it's pretty good if not great

lex pretend, Sunday, 3 April 2011 19:09 (fourteen years ago)

it's called killer love and has a really boring cover. search "club banger nation", "desperate", "amenjena", the title track

lex pretend, Sunday, 3 April 2011 19:10 (fourteen years ago)

Voted for Coming Home but i've had the Alexis Jordan song stuck in my head for two weeks. Looks like a pretty decent, if slow-moving, chart.

Ha ha ha ha. Jack my swag. (ShariVari), Sunday, 3 April 2011 19:15 (fourteen years ago)

1) broken record
2) rolling in the deep
3) good girl
4) down on me
5) black and yellow
6) only girl in the world

apparently i really like stargate

teledyldonix, Sunday, 3 April 2011 19:30 (fourteen years ago)

have stargate reclaimed the crown from dr. luke? this is something i ponder frequently

J0rdan S., Sunday, 3 April 2011 19:31 (fourteen years ago)

either broken record or black and yellow

i heard the j-lo song when watching American Idol w my mom (this and Rebecca Black were my only compromises with my self-imposed Lent music ban) and I was kinda shocked at how un-catchy I found it...

"what's your name?" "silence...silence during class." (Drugs A. Money), Sunday, 3 April 2011 20:22 (fourteen years ago)

Is that other Adele song a Dylan cover?

'what are you, the Hymen Protection League of America?' (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Sunday, 3 April 2011 20:30 (fourteen years ago)

Yep.

Following Annastasia Baker's audition of the song on The X Factor on 28 August 2010, the single re-entered the UK Singles Chart at #24 on 5 September 2010. After a subsequent performance of the song by various artists at boot camp shown 26 September, it peaked at #4 on 3 October 2010.

Dylan's version didn't make the charts though.

if, Sunday, 3 April 2011 21:22 (fourteen years ago)

Wiz made the top ten? That is seriously awesome for him. Lopez has a new single? Wow I am out of the loop.

Nult AGL (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 3 April 2011 22:23 (fourteen years ago)

not as much as i am

mike t-diva, Wednesday, 6 April 2011 11:00 (fourteen years ago)

Broken Record is amazing, the final third where she starts singing "like a broken record" and the 90s style breakbeats kick in and it all lifts off is probably my favourite musical moment of this year. Everyone needs to hear it (and the album for that matter).

Matt DC, Wednesday, 6 April 2011 11:09 (fourteen years ago)

33 Martin Solveig & Dragonette Hello

Is this any good?

Matt DC, Wednesday, 6 April 2011 11:10 (fourteen years ago)

'Wonderman' is pretty great as well, much better than "fifth single off the album, featuring Ellie Goulding" would lead you to believe.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 6 April 2011 11:12 (fourteen years ago)

I'm not sure how far I could rationally justify my liking for "Hello"! For me, it has good associations with warm-up DJs/excited crowds at arena gigs.

mike t-diva, Wednesday, 6 April 2011 11:23 (fourteen years ago)

Voted for Noah & The Whale then. :)

Hongroe (Geir Hongro), Wednesday, 6 April 2011 12:48 (fourteen years ago)

No surprises there, then!

mike t-diva, Wednesday, 6 April 2011 12:50 (fourteen years ago)

I look at this list and feel 129 years old.

Alan Partridge Project (ithappens), Wednesday, 6 April 2011 12:53 (fourteen years ago)

X-Post. Well, might have gone for Lady Gaga or Rihanna as well, but feel none of those are among their best.

Hongroe (Geir Hongro), Wednesday, 6 April 2011 14:28 (fourteen years ago)

"hello" is kinda fun

teledyldonix, Wednesday, 6 April 2011 15:37 (fourteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

banjee trillness (The Reverend), Friday, 8 April 2011 03:01 (fourteen years ago)

Me too

one man's skeevy gas station = another man's supermarket (Drugs A. Money), Friday, 8 April 2011 04:55 (fourteen years ago)

If only it had been a better Jeremih song that had charted.

o0o00h really? (boxedjoy), Friday, 8 April 2011 08:55 (fourteen years ago)
