I think you've gotta break it into eras. So the late 60s/early 70s Big Four would be Cream, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple, and the late 70s/early 80s Big Four would be Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motörhead and...?

I think if this was split into early 70's / late 70's / early 80's / late 80's then it would be easier to figure out. Motorhead would definately be in the big 4 for early 80's.
