Love side 2, the piano is great. Voted Blokbuster.

1994 was his best year: West Palm Beach/Gulf Shores 7", Hope EP, Horses 7", O How I Enjoy the Light 7", Viva Last Blues.

great EP. I voted 'untitled' that's where he says he just baked a cake, right? these Palace polls are reminding me how fast time is flying by.

soon 'slanted & enchanted' will be 20 years old!

Everything here is classic...voted Christmastime in the Mountains but Untitled and Blokbuster are also favourites.

Voted for Blockbuster but it was a tough choice. This whole EP is fantastic. Wish he'd included "For the Mekons" and "Valentines Day," both recorded around the same time. (For the Mekons was on a comp called "Hey Drag City" - search it if you haven't heard it. The live version on Lost Blues doesn't do it justice.)

"Valentines Day" is my alltime favourite early-Oldham track...the opening line "It's Valentine's Day and I'm catatonic" manages to straddle the emotional/confessional and knowing-selfparody aspects that define the Oldham aesthetic for me. Cool video too, a staple of MTV UK Alternative Nation.

"For the Mekons, et al" was on a comp called "Hey Drag City" - search it if you haven't heard it. The live version on Lost Blues doesn't do it justice.

I second, third, and fourth this call. The comp version is easily in my top 10 Palace songs.
