For both tracks and albums. As I suck at maths, I get personal choice over how many points for each placing, based on the easiest way possible to do it.

This just depends on how many you want to count up, and if too many would impact the speed with which you get a final tally. 25 is fine with me, but I know other people will want more.

I'm cool with whatever tbh. Well, assuming it isn't like 400 votes each.

at least 50. I don't want to only have room for my 1984-1992 stuff.

max 5 votes each, keep it to the tunes we really care about imo

― Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 19 April 2011 21:05 (fifteen years ago)

i really care about a lot more than 5 tunes

― popular gay automobile (a hoy hoy), Tuesday, 19 April 2011 21:13 (fifteen years ago)

like i guess i could get it down to five biggie tracks but fucking hell, why would i want to?

― popular gay automobile (a hoy hoy), Tuesday, 19 April 2011 21:14 (fifteen years ago)

blackstreet, saint etienne, last poets, gil + one other should about cover this genre

― Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 19 April 2011 21:22 (fifteen years ago)

The more votes there are, the chances of discovering something new AND deserving stuff rising both increase. IE a number 4 vote for Gettin Jiggy With It has less weight in a more crowded field.

vote Madvillain, Ismael Klaata...

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

50 albums, 100 tracks? just a thought

― dblake (symsymsym), Tuesday, 19 April 2011 23:08 (fifteen years ago)

That.

― Parenthetical Grillz, Wednesday, 20 April 2011 03:24 (fifteen years ago)

there's no reason this board can't come up with a list of 100 hip hop albums that's awesome from top to bottom

― some dude, Wednesday, 20 April 2011 03:39 (fifteen years ago)

fwiw the larger the # of possible entries on a ballot the less likely ppl seem to be to vote & the more ppl that vote the better imo

― c( ☠_ ☠ )ↄ (Lamp), Wednesday, 20 April 2011 06:53 (fifteen years ago)

yeah i think the final album list should definitely be a 100 at least, but 50 would be a less intimidating ballot.

― dblake (symsymsym), Wednesday, 20 April 2011 06:56 (fifteen years ago)

Wouldn't it be though that less people with only a vague interest seem to vote? Wouldn't that be better? Like, 30 ppl actually interested in hip-hop > 60 ppl that could take it or leave it

― Parenthetical Grillz, Wednesday, 20 April 2011 16:47 (fifteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.
