I've got that Braxton/Teitelbaum album! I'd have to listen to these again. Don't think "Human Music" was very good tho... from memory.

... scratch that, it's "Open Aspects" I've got, never heard "Time Zones"

"time zones" i think you can pick up for about $5 and it's a steal. particularly for the contrabass clarinet track. like the bluesiest episode of the sea devils you can imagine. maybe some kinda hp lovecraft in space vibe. "human music" i found a little too sparse / silent to start with & appletons electronics sound a little like flipping through presets on a zoom 505 or something but there is some martian afro disco element to it despite its near total beatlessness.

Teitelbaum's playing on the two Braxton duo records is amazingly responsive, made more impressive when you take into account how primitive the technology was at the time ("microcomputer," ha!). Haven't heard the Cherry/Appelton; should do something about that.

don't know either of these albs, but love the 'Trio and Duet' disc w/ braxton, leo smith (as he was then), dave holland and teitelbaum - you can totally understand why braxton wld be happy to play w wolf eyes after hearing it

also never heard the don cherry/penderecki stuff, any gd?

I love them both, maybe I have a little preference for the braxton one for the reasons described above. The Cherry/Penderecki lp isn't completely removed from Eternal Rhythm: also Rypdal and Brotzmann are on fire.
