I don't know/care. Sometimes I keep them, sometimes not, I guess. 15
Stickers are a disgrace to any album cover, and I get rid of them as soon as I can. 7
As a record collector, I find it important to keep any record exactly the way it looked when it was sold in the store, 7
I never buy CDs nor vinyl. (At least not anymore) 5

Being one of those who always remove them myself. Unless they are obviously part of the cover design (like Prince's symbol album, for instance)

price stickers go, stickers on the shrinkwrap stay.

one dis leads to another (ian), Saturday, 30 April 2011 02:27 (fourteen years ago)

I keep all the catalog stickers on my CDs and DVDs. I have a wide collection stuck to the side of my bookcase. There are even stickers for titles I no longer own.

i have a real fetish for carefully removing them from the record sleeve - love listening to a pile of records and slowly deflowering them of glue, paper, print ... and I HATE overzealous charity shop super glue stickers gunmming up a good find

I'm with ian on this one but I don't see it as an option above.

nah i don't eat them, there was a thread a while back about disgusting savages eating the stickers on apples

I don't buy physical music anymore, but when I did I'd remove price sitckers etc.

However, there is something to be said for price stickers in a retrospective kinda way. All my inherited vinyl from the past 50 years has various stickers from our prices/virgins/indys/etc. It's nice to look at - you can tell where it came from, (the 'our price' stickers used to have location of store on them') and the price. Tells you that little more about where the record came from I guess.

That said, I always removed them myself.

nah there's no shame in edible stickers

bell hops (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 1 May 2011 21:52 (fourteen years ago)

As for classic stickers, there was the one on "Use Your Illusion" which was actually banned in spite of presenting itself as a warning sticker of sorts.

Hongroe (Geir Hongro), Sunday, 1 May 2011 21:55 (fourteen years ago)

When the parental advisory stickers first showed up I peeled them off and stuck them all to an old desklamp.

I remove all stickers unless they a) dont come off or b) are part of the design

VegemiteGrrl, Sunday, 1 May 2011 22:46 (fourteen years ago)

ticked "keep 'em" but I don't mean price stickers, just ones with logos or titles or whatever
