This idea came up when I was listening to Tomboy on this morning's commute. I'd like to make a mixtape featuring songs with football/crowd/referee/commentator sounds incorporated. I'd like it to be 12 songs long (as in audience being the "12th player" of a team).
I'm pretty sure about the bookend songs, opening with La Düsseldorf's "La Düsseldorf" and ending with Panda Bear's "Benfica". Also thinking of squeezing this in somewhere.
Any suggestions?

Pink Floyd's "Fearless" has sounds from the Liverpool FC crowd singing "You'll Never Walk Alone".

Rita Lee "Amor branco e preto", a love song for Corinthians Sao Paulo, with Brazilian commentator going mad after a goal. Can't remember if Jorge Ben's Umbabarauma has actually "football" sounds, but probably it is the best football song ever.

Bartone, France/Allemagne 82. Had a weak spot for this song after hearing it on holiday once, always stayed with me.

Bartone, 'France / Allemagne '82', that is.
It's their own commentary, rather than a sampled commentary, but still ...

Yeah just realised Bartone doesn't have commentator/crowd incorporated in the sound, soz

Gorillaz - Slow Country
Has a football crowd sample being looped. Also it's the best song from the first album.

Also: it might not have crowd/comment samples but Umbabarauma by Jorge Ben is by far the best football related song in the world.

Latter one has no actual crowd noises and minimal connection to football but it has an actual footballer on it.

Don't forget Michael Rother's "Fortuna" - same team!

I remember reading an Irmin Schmidt interview where he was extolling the virtues of Wolfgang Overath but, unfortunately, there are no Can songs about 1FC Köln that I know of.
