Which is second best? I am going to assume After the Gold Rush would win in a landslide, so asking about 2nd best.

surely we've done this before? As usual I expect Crosby will murder the others, & I might have voted for it over After The Gold Rush, even. But the Nash album is absolutely gorgeous too: the chorus of "Simple Man"! (only marred by the sax). "Chicago" -> "We Can Change The World"! I guess the sentiments are a bit out of date now but those hooks aren't. This is kind of a great piano album. "Military Madness" has a luscious melody.

I will pass over Stills in silence.

I'm going to go with Nash, thats the one I've spent the most time with. Its a great album. To be fair, I've not heard the entire Stills one though.

Its gotta be Crosby. I'd take it over 'Goldrush; too.

Name over Goldrush is madness. But I guess there is something crazy about that album.

Listening to 'Song For Beginners' tonight and it's such a hopeful record. It's seems Nash wasn't suffering from the 60's hangover that David Crosby was. 'If I could only remember my name is much more bleak, tired, and musically closer to CSN&Y, kind of. 'Name' is like a 4 am record, when you really just want to sleep. Should I listen to the Stephen Stills record? It's among the record I stole from my Dad along with the other 3 on this poll.

'If I could only remember my name' does have a dim light beauty about it.

listened to the nash & stills albums tonight. nash was really nice, but a lil tame. wife thought we were listening to a john lennon album. it has the amazing 'better days' and one more that really stood out. overall it's good but almost unmemorable.

i actually liked the stills album more. good rocking production w/gospel choirs. kinda don't ever want to hear "love the one you're with" ever again. nothing as standout as 'better days' but an overall better album.

crosby wins obvs. one of my fave albums ever.

I really wanted all of 'Song For Beginners' to be as good as Better Days, and there were a few nice songs, but like the songs he wrote for CSN&Y they are my least favorite. Even 'Our House' could be a Lennon song.

Nash. Crosby record is overrated, never cared for Stills in any form.
