it made me think about how some songs might sound without the parenthetical, if you know what I mean:

Pub quiz I frequent featured "Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine" in the music round a while back; answers were only counted as correct if they had the parentheses right. I think one team got the points (we didn't).
