I gotta give it to Freeze, because I never saw the video for it. It sounded great late at night back in the 80s.

The EBN-OZN track doesn't date very well. The cavalier attitude of the singer (EBN? OZN?) is more laughable-at than I recall.

there are 178 parent languages on our planet, with over 1000 dialects. it's amazing we communicate at all! languages and dialects with this one thing in common...

was always laugh-at-able tho. used to listen close to the fade-out for that "she was alright, she let me keep my boots on" line, cracked me up (a heartbreaking absence in this clip, but i dunno that it was ever in the video version). and that weird, chiming synth noise on the chorus, the screams and pitch-shifted voices towards the end. so comprehensively ridiculous. catchy and clever, spooky and uplifting both, plus a great beat.

so she rang me up and she says, "hey, do you wanna go OUT-uh?" "huh, do i wanna go OUT."

contenderizer, Wednesday, 1 June 2011 08:47 (fourteen years ago)

wow these are both sorta terrible, but i dig the wobbly synth stuff in ebn-ozn more than the high pitched yip yap in the other one so aeiousmetimesy i guess

The Freeez track is an all time CLASSIC of course.

EBN-OZN sounds like a Latin freestyle group covering a Cabaret Voltaire song

Freeez sounds like what Shep Pettibone was listening to when he developed his production aesthetic

lol

I don't hate freestyle at all but I generally like it better when the singer has a personality

Sometimes get those songs confused with the slightly later “Fascinated” by Company B.
