I love all these songs, but I might go with Londonbeat

da croupier, Tuesday, 31 May 2011 13:02 (fourteen years ago)

color me badd is the only real option here

the smoke cloud of pure hatred (lex pretend), Tuesday, 31 May 2011 13:05 (fourteen years ago)

Londonbeat for me too

I remember CMB coming on the radio during school and kids getting reaaal excited to see whether the teacher would notice the salaciousness of it. She turned the station before they even got to the lyrics, and I'm not sure if it was because she knew the song or because she could just tell shit was gonna get spicy with those "ooooh-ooh-ooo-ooooh"s

da croupier, Tuesday, 31 May 2011 13:34 (fourteen years ago)

CMB narrowly over U2

"we can do it till we both wake up"

da croupier, Tuesday, 31 May 2011 13:35 (fourteen years ago)

U2 - not my favourite off Achtung Baby but then Summer Babe isn't my favourite off S&E, and Pavement don't need my vote.

We need to talk about Bevan (DL), Tuesday, 31 May 2011 13:49 (fourteen years ago)

wow, I voted CMB too, before reading thread, which shows that I'm by no means alone. I don't love that CMB song at all, but I dislike the U2 song (the worst song on that album by some distance imo), don't care much about Pavement, & though I like Billy Bragg (in low doses), I've never liked that song. I can sing the chorus of the Londonbeat song but can't remember anything else about it.

The Londonbeat song for that gorgeous guitar part.

Me voting U2 in a poll is real dog-bites-man stuff, but I will here. I love three or four Pavement songs but don't remember "Summer Babe."

clemenza, Tuesday, 31 May 2011 14:48 (fourteen years ago)

Uh...man bites dog.

clemenza, Tuesday, 31 May 2011 14:49 (fourteen years ago)

Me voting Pavement in a poll is real man-bites-dog stuff, but I just did it too. (It's the last record I care about by them; still own the 45. Only song I definitely can't stand here is the U2; remember not liking the Billy Bragg at the time, but haven't heard it in years, so who knows how I'd feel if I heard it now.) (Haven't heard the Color Me Badd or Londonbeat in years, either, come to think of it, but have a feeling I'd still think them okay.)

I love them all, although I love "Sexuality" least.

The Edge of Gloryhole (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 31 May 2011 15:09 (fourteen years ago)

I can't not vote "Mysterious Ways."

jer.fairall, Tuesday, 31 May 2011 15:11 (fourteen years ago)

Finally voted for Londonbeat because, yeah, the highlife guitars are gorgeous.

"I've Been Thinking About You" is the Will Ferrell SNL sketch song, right?

Do you mean "What is Love?" by Haddaway?

Tom Skerritt Mustache Ride (DJP), Tuesday, 31 May 2011 15:22 (fourteen years ago)

Yes! Sorry, those songs remind me of each other for some reason.

Darin, Tuesday, 31 May 2011 15:27 (fourteen years ago)

Possibly one of the only polls where I'll vote for U2.
