Name that song. "Groovin on a sunday afternoon. Really couldn't get away to soon. There lots of thinsgs that we can see, we can be anyone we like to be and all the happy people we could meet just groovin."

"Groovin'" by the Young Rascals. Apparently #1 in 1967.

Lyrics< a>

That would be "Groovin'" by the Rascals - or were they still the Young Rascals then?

Availible on any "Hot Laidback Summer Hits Compilation". Where is Doctor Pop when you need him?

Funnily enough, it's called Groovin' :) It's by the Rascals. Actually, I've just realised that a Lighter Shade of Brown nicked it for a sample on Sunday Afternoon.

It was the 'Dancing in the Moonlight' of its day.

If it's the same song I'm thinking of it was on the Platoon O.S.T. right next to 'Okie from Muskogee', and somehow blended together in my head. I think they compliment each other. "We don't take marijuana in Muskogee, we don't take our trips on LSD, I'm proud to be a Okie from muskogee, a place where even squares can have a ball, we don't burn our draftcards down on main street, like the hippies out in San Francisco do."

other lines read

"the kids here still respect the college dean, and white lightning's still the biggest thrill of all"

Now that's a funny song.
