Okay I had to excise some stuff to get it down to fifty, but I think this does a pretty good job of covering the dude's pretty impressive resume. I purposely left off the Converge remasters, as well as the 7" stuff to keep it primarily album oriented. There are some really great albums on this list. Also hoping this sparks some discussion so I can learn about some of these that I haven't heard.

I mean, even a quick scan reveals at least 12 albums I would wholeheartedly recommend as absolutely killer albums.

was between Kvelertak and KEN Mode. Picked the former. Actually not a huge fan of this guy's production style (ear fatigue lol) but he has produced some great shit.

That's kind of funny because listening to those exact two albums back-to-back today is what led me to create this poll!

Yeah - this is tough - ended up going with 'Axe to Fall' but those Trap Them records are pretty good - I really need to hear that Kvelertak rekkid ...

i will say i really like his style in terms of giving really aggro, somewhat difficult bands a pop-like clarity and punch. i get that it's not for everyone but from my perspective it works fantastically.

dance tonight! classic ian high school jammer. also that cave-in record.

Oh man, too many good albums...what's that 108 one like?

Simon H. Shit (Simon H.), Friday, 10 June 2011 02:51 (thirteen years ago)

gotta vote for that cave-in record. years of lesser hardcore/metal hybrids haven't diluted its power. (ok, maybe a little.)

I remember liking chaos is me more than dance tonight! but it's been a while.

pretty into you fail me too. underrated.

So many great albums, but I voted for Disfear. One of my favourite sounding albums of the last ten years or so, the tone on that one is incredible.

'you fail me'. totally brutal record with a really organic sound. likely the most challenging thing converge has released.

Yeah, that Disfear album sounds so fucking great. Really threw me for a loop when I first heard it. I'm having such a tough time deciding on this one.

everybody's heard that magrudergrind record right? it is awesome

Voted Modern Life is War - Witness, it's the album that got me back to hardcore in 2005. Also, the Cave-In, Have Heart and 108 records totally rule.
