Looking for mixes or albums that are:
- more modern in production than the first wave of dub
- more vocal and melodic than most dubstep.

Select Cuts has a great modern dub series. Guidance also did a good series of modern dub. Can't recall the title.

I also really like the stuff in Jahtari but it isn't for everyone.

I like Pulshar's Brotherhood. Very much in a similar vein to Rhythm & Sound.

Jah Warrior label is also pretty uniformly excellent. Disciples similar to Iration Steppas (records also slightly easier to find). Maybe Twilight Circus Sound System although debatable whether they are much "more modern" in production.

That's a pretty good compilation. The Phase Selector Sound LP Disassembled Dub is pretty good too. Gotta locate my PSS 7" because that was incredible.

That's pretty good too. Systemwide in general is good.

Thanks guys, getting much of this. What about some more rhythmic stuff, sorta like dubbed dancehall/hip-hop?

Have you tried King Midas Sound, The Bug, or Black Chow (all Kevin Martin projects)?

I'd second Rhythm and Sound. Not sure if it's exactly what you're after but the Peaking Lights album "936" released earlier this year is heavily influenced by dub (among other things) and sounds gorgeous in parts.
