i mean two truly capital G Great MCs that really pioneered the form in terms of flows and rhyming (BDK and Kool G)...two of the most amazing personalities ever (Biz and Shante) plus two way underrated and super skilled guys (Ace and Craig G)...plus maybe one of the top 4 or 5 influential producers in hip hop history....not to mention Shan and Tragedy

"Had Streets of New York on my tracks ballot - amazed Kool G Rap was shut out of both lists."
Yah, went with Ill Street Blues, lets chalk it up to vote splitting then, cos its inexcusable.

^yeah not even a question and i love krs and all, but he only ever made one truly satisfying record
plus Mr Magic was w/the Juice Crew so that cancels out Red Alert
― brodie to the max (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 14 June 2011 17:55 (fourteen years ago)
and let's not forget TJ Swann, or maybe we can
― brodie to the max (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 14 June 2011 17:56 (fourteen years ago)
BDK and KGR both getting shut out was totally due to vote splitting, this is what I have to believe

"but he only ever made one truly satisfying record"

vote-splitting really killed it for those guys lacking a definitive, canonical hit

like the majority of people will acknowledge that Juicy is Biggie's best or Big Pimpin' is Jay-Z's or whatever, but for these other dudes that never had huge chart success and instead just cranked out overlooked but influential gems, they got screwed

the poll was also kinda weird - I mean the only BDP to place was "the bridge is over" - not that I'm complaining cuz it's the track I voted for but it seemed like an idiosyncratic pick to me att

The symphony dudes
― hella peens (D-40), Tuesday, 14 June 2011 18:20 (fourteen years ago)

― lots of janitors have something to say (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 14 June 2011 18:21 (fourteen years ago)
yeah i meant criminal minded
― brodie to the max (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 14 June 2011 18:50 (fourteen years ago)
"the symphony" just outside the 50 on my ballot, tough choices but "raw" was my #20, my hands are clean
