Brian Johnson era AC/DC POLL -- Best Non-Back in Black AC/DC Studio Album 1981-Present

I thought of not including For Those About to Rock either but I'm not sure everybody picks that one (I don't).

Seems like AC/DC fans are divided on whether they like any of the post-BiB albums, other than Fly on the Wall, which they almost all hate. So...pick your fav here. I've removed Who Made Who since it is really half-comp/half new songs.

Ballbreaker. As someone said on another AC/DC thread, no Rudd, no thud. Also, the best-produced non-Mutt Lange AC/DC record.

Thunderstruck is easily my favorite song from this period, but I think Blow Up Your Video (Vanda/Young production!) is more listenable on the whole than Razor's.

they haven't made an album that sucks in a very long time

balls, Wednesday, 15 June 2011 00:52 (fourteen years ago)

"Thunderstruck" is incredible but some days my fav is "Big Gun" from the friggin' Last Action Hero OST

There are some really good songs on some of these records, but after Mutt and until the more recent records they got far away from the really dry hard sound and lathered everything in tons of reverb.

'money talks' by many miles my fave from this era

balls, Wednesday, 15 June 2011 00:56 (fourteen years ago)

I'm such a Bon stan that aside from old-school rave-ups like "War" (which is really why I give Blow Up the nod), I really only dig the later stuff at its most disco or melodic

da croupier, Wednesday, 15 June 2011 00:56 (fourteen years ago)

I prefer Bon, really tho my main prob is that Brian after "For Those" grew harder and harder to listen to.

And I think someone said it better in anothyer thread but BJ can be damn dynamicless sometimes!

Flick of the Switch. The crisp, dry production is what initially hooked me. And farewell to Phil; even though he was fired they kept his drumming. Without him they were something else entirely.

I'll go with the only sane option: For Those About to Rock

Stiff Upper Lip.

Flick of the Switch has been underrated since the day it was released

Voted for For Those About To Rock.

Favorite post-1980 songs: "Who Made Who," "Let's Get It Up," "Sink The Pink," maybe "Bedlam In Belgium" (which I haven't listened to in a while,, but remember liking a lot once upon a time.) Have never particularly cared about "Thunderstruck."

Can't quibble with the winner, but seriously? Only two votes for Ballbreaker?
