hi music journalists, what are the worst albums you have ever heard?

the music commentariat are being undermined by nonaligned music lovers who are prepapred to offer their opinions for free on popular microblogging webisites such as twitter

however, thanks to the amount of things they listen to, critics arguably remain the foremost authority on 'bad' music

itt critics and former critics may list i) an estimate of the number of promos they have granted at least a cursory listen & ii) the worst things they have heard

new atari teenage riot album is bad. new album by the book of knots is horrible. that teddybears album i got in the mail is horrible.

feel kinda bad saying that about book of knots cuz they are all old lifer nyc arty types who mean no harm and everything but i could barely listen to it. maybe it got better after the initial horribleness.

I'm guessing someone'll read me the riot act for a couple of these, but these are my 10 Worst So Far for 2011, from "best" to worst. I should maybe listen to Kitten again.

that Grace Potter and the Nocturnals record is one of the worst records I've ever heard. I can't believe anyone would think that shit is any good.

The worst thing I've heard in several years is Kathleen Hanna and Peaches covering "Dead End Justice" on a tribute-to-the-Runaways compilation that comes out this week. Horrifying.

It was a horrible anti-folk record called Erection by Mike Tyler that was so bad that I quit the magazine I was writing for when they refused to run the review because the PR company would "be upset"

I had never heard of this artist, but just discovered her song that plays over the end credits of Tangled - what a jam! Checked out her 2010 album, which roughly coincided with the movie (so I thought it may have a similar vibe) - yeah, it's... not good. Tried a few tracks from earlier LPs - they're not so hot, either. Was that tune just a one-off??
