yeah that dream sequence is classic. the "cult of lebowski" is pretty icky, but the movie remains great. never heard a lot of these versions though!

like a lot of these, but kenny's is by far my favorite, with mickey's original and sharon jones' turbocharged take on the bettye lavette version not far behind. kenny's big gift to the song is a wondering, psychedelically singed softness. it feels lost in its moment, but not at all anguished. underselling the burnout angst = a very smart move, imo.
