I'm only starting this thread cuz I see that Ned and I are scrobbling him as I type. Hey Ned, our compatibility is VERY HIGH.

Oh...and I dig this.

Haha amazing. And indeed, listening to Equatorial Ultravox this very second for the AMG, real liking it, thinking Dan will as well, and not being surprised at ALL that the guy is opening for Active Child in a couple of months.

I appreciate the brevity of it, but, in a rarity for me, I wish the songs were a longer. Shapeless. for instance, seems like it could go in some interesting directions.

not really into his croony voice but his beats and loops sound wicked live (saw him as support for neon indian and twin shadow in the last year)

remix of harrys gym's 'old man' is a current fave

Was recommended this a while back, now following up. Ooh, yes, definitely feeling it. "Fast Challenges", yum.

And "Shapeless" is also lovely. Puts me somewhat in mind of all those Aeroplane remixes from 2008/09.

one year passes...

so Equatorial Ultravox is amazing and classic to me already and the new song from his new full-length Young Hunger with twin shadow is fucking killing me right now. oh my god. i'm nerding out and fanboying out right now. i cannot think logically. i'm like lex at a taylor swift listening session... http://soundcloud.com/chadvalley/i-owe-you-this-feat-twin

Now that's a reaction. Listening to the whole album right now -- I can see why he drives some people up a wall but really, I just hear him as what happens when you put a-ha together with Eggstone or someone similar, so pretty much I'm sold no matter what.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 15 October 2012 17:04 (twelve years ago)

Does he actually drive people up walls?

I do get why he might not be someone's thing. Kinda cheesy really-emotive crooner voice (but it's one hell of a kinda cheesy really-emotive crooner voice) and his lyrics are pretty straightfoward, but man, he sells them.

Plus this is just really in my wheelhouse, so I'm predisposed to love shit like this.

Listening to the album now too, and it's confirmed, I love it.

New album is.... Interesting if not what I'm usually into.

Seems like there should be Teenbeat posters of this guy on the bedroom walls of 14-year old girl scouts across Omaha (in a good way)

this keeps getting better, btw

except song with singer from Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs is weak until he gets off the track, his voice is too weak indie vibes for this kind of EMOOOOOTING song.
