sprek, Wednesday, 4 September 2002 02:32 (twenty-three years ago)

you all are gonna love the great country love'n, non-hiphop "talking time travel". Such great campfire story telling.....go PB!

sprek, Wednesday, 4 September 2002 02:35 (twenty-three years ago)

He rhymed "Super Bowl" with "smooch on your pooper hole" once. For that alone I find it impossible to hate him.

Nate Patrin, Wednesday, 4 September 2002 03:19 (twenty-three years ago)

so, chaki, is your AIM working?? mine will not!

ron (ron), Wednesday, 4 September 2002 03:32 (twenty-three years ago)

ps i now prefer "off the chain"!!

ron (ron), Wednesday, 4 September 2002 03:32 (twenty-three years ago)

he played at my school. I was one of the promoters. I complimented him on his music and he got really defensive. it was an uncomfortable moment in the elevator.

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Wednesday, 4 September 2002 03:44 (twenty-three years ago)

ron (ron), Wednesday, 4 September 2002 03:55 (twenty-three years ago)

I have to agree -- MC Paul Barman is absolutely brilliant.

Alex in NYC, Wednesday, 4 September 2002 12:27 (twenty-three years ago)

He played at my school too and was a total whiny cock. He refused to freestyle, which was probably a good thing. Dalek opened for him and totally blew him away.

Nick A., Wednesday, 4 September 2002 13:19 (twenty-three years ago)

this thread is some kinda nadir.

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 4 September 2002 13:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Nick - my memory is hazy, but wasn't that the Dalek, Barman and DJ Spooky tour? What school?

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Wednesday, 4 September 2002 13:28 (twenty-three years ago)

I think those three had just finished touring together. Spooky wasn't there. The concert Nick mentions was at the College of William and Mary in Virginia. Barman was indeed a huge dick.

charlie va, Wednesday, 4 September 2002 13:34 (twenty-three years ago)

we had them up here at Clark. Spooky *really* wanted to visit our radio station and broadcast. We didn't have the heart to tell him that our transmitter wasn't working. He played for the three of us in the station.

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Wednesday, 4 September 2002 14:53 (twenty-three years ago)

hehehe

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Wednesday, 4 September 2002 15:36 (twenty-three years ago)

"it's very stimulating" is a masterpiece imo

samosa gibreel, Tuesday, 12 January 2010 22:44 (fifteen years ago)

There's another video on Youtube which has him pointing out some multi-dimensional acrostic contained in one of his new songs.

James Mitchell, Tuesday, 12 January 2010 22:48 (fifteen years ago)

seven months pass...

What is a Ketubah?

The Ketubah is the Jewish wedding contract, more artistic than what you get from City Hall,
and traditionally framed in a place of prominence in the home.
Muslims do the same thing - they call it, "Al Kitabeh."

What is an Audioketubah?

Audioketubahs are custom-made song-poems written and recorded by MC Paul Barman.

Paul draws upon his experience as an interviewer for Wired and the Voice to pull out hilarious and tear-cracking stories about the newlyweds. Then he applies the rhyme skills awarded four stars by Rolling Stone and revered by fans worldwide.

In addition to the recording, the gift comes with a hand-written scroll.
