(where is the thread explaining HTML?)

Ok the first tracks that must be identified can be found at Groovetech.com on Kevin Saunderson's mix from GT Radio London February 10, 2001. Go to "Broadcasts" then "archives" then type Kevin Saunderson in the box for "artist". I would like ID for two tracks... the second one, with the quasi-Sade singing and deephouse feel. I would also like the name of the fourth track, which has the disco house vibe and the "I'm never gonna give my love a rest" vocal sample.

Also, there is a classic breakbeat rave tune that I can't find the name of. it sounds like it is from 93 or 94 because it is not fully jungle, and yet closer to jungle than most 92 tracks I have heard. I am gonna describe it to the best of my abilities... The breakdown if very euphoric, and there is a woman whispering and sighing "come here" and then another more soulful woman singing "Mmmm mmm" on two notes, the latter being higher. The break has the sample "get oaaff (off)".

please help as these tracks have been haunting me forever! thanks

I hope this works and doesn't become garbled nonsense or interpreted as HTML;

ok... so if I want to link, I *don't* use quotes?

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Wednesday, 4 September 2002 16:01 (twenty-three years ago)

No, do use quotes. Substitute http://www.ilxor.com for your URL of choice and I Love Stuff for your commentary and you're away.

I would feel much better if someone could just say "hey aaron I tried but I have no idea what those tracks are"

Aaron - you could try posting your query on the "Tune IDs" forum at Back To The Old Skool ... they're normally pretty good in my experience!

That was for the last (jungle) track by the way - they would probably snigger rudely at you for even mentioning the others. :)

Nick (nick_banks), Thursday, 5 September 2002 13:33 (twenty-three years ago)

thanks Nick I will try that!

Okay - tune I've been trying to source for ages. Really kind of cheesy, but holds a lot of memories and I really want to get hold of it. I heard this record in the US in spring '95, and I'm guessing it probably came out around '94 or so. It was in that smooth, trancy progressive house style that was popular at the time, and came in two mixes. One was prog speed with little Indian flourishes, and the other was a chill-out type mix with reggae influences.

The vocal was something along the lines of "I dance to the rhythm in my soul, just let the music take control, why don't we follow the motion, full of emotion and let our souls slip free. Look from the future into the past, we've slowed it down so you can move around, dance to the rhythm that's in your soul, just let the music take control..."

If you ever went to raves in atlanta in 94-95 you probably know it, elsewhere, I wouldn't know...
