with a little distance i feel like ppl were unduly harsh on "knock you down", it's a solid jam & better than most of what radio was offering up at the time in this genre anyway, kanye notwithstanding

i thought people liked "knock you down"!

anywho I guess I'll vote for "Intuition"... honorable mention "How Does It Feel" and "Where Did He Go?". But yeah this is a solid & underrated album, I remember at the time people sort of ignored it a bit in favor of Ciara's Fantasy Ride

"turnin' me on" is the obvious choice, the track that i absolutely caned at the time. "intuition" is my favourite of the deep cuts that i feel might need the vote more. hmm.

There are several potential choices - "Turnin' Me On", "Knock You Down", "Slow Dance", "Energy" - but "Alienated" gets my vote.

Knock You Down. I didn't even realise people were knocking it down TBH.

it's just the kanye verse that sinks it for me, the melody is really sweet and pretty otherwise

"turnin' me on" = the Last Great Lil Wayne Guest Verse? the entire song is such a jam though

voted 'alienated' from memory but i don't really feel compelled to ever hear this album again

Yeah, the Kanye verse is definitely the weak spot. Love everything else about it.

this record really keeps on giving - i like both "turnin me on" and "knock you down" ok but there are so many varied deep cuts on this

listening to the record, trying to see if i'm gonna go with the old standby "Alienated" or try to switch it up

she may not have the best voice but it's a very alluring voice imo

ha i was gonna mention that song because it's a bonus track on the copy i got from amazon, definitely like it as an album closer better than "Energy"

agree w/shipz re the second album - both have a fair few forgettable tracks but prob around the same amount of surprisingly great ones that ambush you somewhat due to relatively low expectations

i had no idea "alienated" was so loved though

agree it's somewhat a shame about the second album - i listened again and you can hear the craft in there, despite it never really achieving any sort of lasting gravitas as a whole. (i think probably nelly saying something about "shaking your anus" is the exact moment the spell breaks and it all becomes a bit random songsy dress-up and runs adrift from a consistent keri persona, 'all the boys' being a fine last rally swiftly thwarted by the yeezy 'pretty girl rock' bonus track).

shame in the sense of it being buried in december, i mean at least - keri awkwardly licking iron prison doors and hollering about her muff all of a sudden is probably her own fault.

kind of just now realizing the genius of sequencing "slow dance" and "make love" back to back

even though its title is "slow dance" and keri whispers "this is for the dance floor" in the background, the kind of slow dance this song evokes is really the one late at night at your place, halfway through a bottle of wine with the record player on. it makes perfect sense that the next song is called "make love", because that's the next part of the night, and sonically and mood-wise it's in the same vein: an almost drunken, whirling release of passion

just realized k3v somehow cut off the (great) last song in the poll options -- where did "Where Did He Go" go!!!

i think i hate the Akon song so much it almost singlehandedly holds back the album from classic status for me and makes me think No Boys Allowed might be better. also would be happy to never heard "Knock You Down" again.
