I didn't write this, but some review (ed. note: cokemachineglow) said something about how I'm So Green was a thick-funk milkshake that subtly reinvented its own groove every 16 bars.

"Vitamin C" because of the beat that's still from the future, 40 years on. And the organ. Probably Top 10 songs all-time for me, and along with "Paperhouse/Mushroom" one-two punch, permanently altered the way I heard music and thought of musical progress the first time I heard it. Literally couldn't believe it.

That said, "Green" is, of course, better than 99.999% of all other popular music.

The "Vitamin C"/"It's Gonna Rain, Part II" remix starting at around 50:33 of this mix is one of the most fun things I've ever done for a mix. Takes that beat and runs with it, all the while Reich's preacher building and building over it (along with some Alvin Lucier droning underneath).
