Kanye vocal cameos on "Roc Boys" and "D.O.A." and Jay's brief appearance on "Last Call" didn't seem necessary to include but otherwise i think this is pretty complete

stealing one of the most famous slick rick lines ever on a saturday afternoon doesn't really take much practice if you like rap music, al.

though i can't wait for your follow-up thread "songs Jay-Z and Kanye West made together post-Blueprint, pre-Watch The Throne, with Beyoncé choruses and non-album tracks excluded, I think this could make for interesting results, guys."

Jay-Z f/ Kanye West - "The Bounce"

"The Bounce" is an amusing curio just for Kanye rapping on a Timbo beat in his first guest verse on a Roc-A-Fella release (without a feature credit on the tracklisting haha) but among these other songs it doesn't really rate imo

some dude, Saturday, 13 August 2011 17:43 (fourteen years ago)

Good poll idea!

As much as I love The Blueprint as a unit, I love the "Diamonds Are Forever" remix even more as a song. To me that's still the best post-'03 Hova rap ever.

but it's "poppin' tags"

mutant slow drum (BradNelson), Sunday, 14 August 2011 06:24 (fourteen years ago)

poppin tags, never really loved it for jay's verse. there's this funness to the rest of it and even when there's a line about putting something hot thru your iceberg it's just dumb rhymemaking. there's a specificity to the rest of it, careful brand name and designer notes BY THE LATE DAPPER DAN HIMSELF. if it was at the end it would flatten all of that flamboyant shit with its flat, bored menace.

dylannn, Sunday, 14 August 2011 06:51 (fourteen years ago)

this can't be life, i am more into jay/beans/face and similar combos than anyone in the world. yeah again i probably have the other verses memorized and that beanie verse is perfect to me and i'm tingling listen to it. but jay on this is about as good as he ever got. three time felons in shorts with jealous thoughts / tryna figure where your mail is / guestimate the weight you sellin, and the shout to illmatic rockin out of every ragtop, and the emphatic sad hook.

rest of the list 3. heart of the city 4. girls remix 5. izzo 6. guess who's back 7. the bounce 8. never change 9. swagga like us 10. never let me down

idk just think its dumb when ppl try clown young ppl for not being old & hearing run dmc on the radio when we were kids. whineys post was funny & otm but "smh" was a step too far. heard that ice-t song at a party a few years ago and asked someone what it was & the guy was like "puts jay z to shame huh" but tbh i kinda thought it sucked. at the time at least, dont feel like listening to it
