Bee OK, Sunday, 14 August 2011 00:00 (fourteen years ago)

what do you mean?

dayo, Sunday, 14 August 2011 00:07 (fourteen years ago)

each is probably my least favorite big '90s band from their respective sides of the pond, but i think my dislike for Blur is probably stronger

some dude, Sunday, 14 August 2011 00:13 (fourteen years ago)

blur has at least a few songs i'd put on again by choice. the offspring i pretty much wanted stricken from the record from the first time i saw the vid for "come out and play" on 120 minutes.

on the other hand, damon albarn was kind of a jerk the one time i had to interview him. now i guess i have to interview dexter to be sure.

please tell me you used the phrase "blurillaz" when speaking to him

some dude, Sunday, 14 August 2011 00:18 (fourteen years ago)

it was at like 6 a.m. on a monday morning. i'm surprised i didn't ask him how his brother noel was doing.

one time for the same gig i had to interview ed from radiohead and when i called the hotel he was staying at in new york i had to ask for "mr. black." which of course i couldn't help saying in the "mr. black" voice from the "kamp krusty" episode of the simpsons.

king of torts (strongo hulkington's ghost dad), Sunday, 14 August 2011 00:22 (fourteen years ago)

loool

some dude, Sunday, 14 August 2011 00:24 (fourteen years ago)

before i even read the whole post i saw the phrase "mr. black" and flashed to the simpsons episode

some dude, Sunday, 14 August 2011 00:24 (fourteen years ago)

haha ed from radiohead was a totally gracious interview, by the way. "mr. black" is just still hilarious to me.

king of torts (strongo hulkington's ghost dad), Sunday, 14 August 2011 00:24 (fourteen years ago)

i'm bummed mr. black isn't the name of anyone in reservoir dogs, i wanted to figure out which member of radiohead they make go as mr. pink

some dude, Sunday, 14 August 2011 00:26 (fourteen years ago)

i assume divulging this "deep throat" style subterfuge means i'm off nasty little man's promo list

king of torts (strongo hulkington's ghost dad), Sunday, 14 August 2011 00:27 (fourteen years ago)

one thing that's true for both is that they all had sex with gwen stefani

the guy who is too intense about the bean toss game (Z S), Sunday, 14 August 2011 00:29 (fourteen years ago)

that was a wild weekend -- the true woodstock of the 90s if you ask me

some dude, Sunday, 14 August 2011 00:32 (fourteen years ago)

the blur soundtracked the trailer to starship troopers. the offspring soundtracked 50% of the time I spent playing crazy taxi (whose bright idea was it to have a four song soundtrack where each song was a minute and a half long? ugghhh)

man every time i think i've given verhoeven enough credit for how fucked up he is...

king of torts (strongo hulkington's ghost dad), Sunday, 14 August 2011 00:35 (fourteen years ago)

omg i remember the summer my brother played crazy taxi nonstop and heard the YAH YAH YAH YAH YAH of "all i want" a thousand times (hated it at the time but in retrospect it might be my favorite offspring single by default)

some dude, Sunday, 14 August 2011 00:42 (fourteen years ago)

hahah "YAH YAH YAH YAH YAH" was going through my head as I wrote that post

NAH NAH, NAH-NAH, NAH NAH, NAH-NAH

I wrote her off for the tenth time today
And practice all the things I would say
But she came over
I lost my nerve
I took her back and made her dessert
Now I know I'm being used
That's okay man cause I like the abuse
I know she's playing with me
That's okay cause I got no self esteem

http://www.myspacesarcasm.com/myspace-animated-comments/14/pics_animated-stick-figure-head-banging.gif

Now I'll relate this little bit
That happens more than I'd like to admit
Late at night she knocks on my door
Drunk again and looking to score
Now I know I should say no
But that's kind of hard when she's ready to go
I may be dumb
But I'm not a dweeb
I'm just a sucker with no self esteem

http://www.myspacesarcasm.com/myspace-animated-comments/14/pics_animated-stick-figure-head-banging.gif

When she's saying, oh, that she wants only me
Then I wonder why she sleeps with my friends
When she's saying, oh, that I'm like a disease
Then I wonder how much more I can spend
Well I guess I should stick up for myself
But I really think it's better this way
The more you suffer
The more it shows you really care
Right? Yeah-eh-eh

dayo, Sunday, 14 August 2011 23:15 (fourteen years ago)

Mark G, Wednesday, 17 August 2011 11:44 (fourteen years ago)

When the Think Tank-era Blur had to play New York obviously without Graham Coxon, but neither Alex James (visa problems), they recruited the Rival School bassist, though the obvious choice would have been Bryan Blur from Radish

Colin Allstations (PaulTMA), Wednesday, 17 August 2011 11:47 (fourteen years ago)

Armand Schaubroeck Ratfucker, Wednesday, 17 August 2011 11:50 (fourteen years ago)
