Listened to this album this morning after reading the Resident Advisor review and really enjoyed it. I like his work as TRG (minus the Cosmin) a lot and I think the garage/funky influence is writ large over this, but it's a lot more than just "techno album with more rhythmic ornamentation", it's got a really focussed vibe, yet feels warm and dreamy.

Is this along the lines of Twilight Riddim? I usually want to run a mile when techno types start talking about funky influences but that one is pretty good.

not really, that was his pop apex. this is more of a early 90s detroit techno w/ breaks sort of sound
