In 1994 I was eighteen. I just made a CD of songs released in 1994, that I'm pretty sure I listened to back then. You make think it's pretty grim. Here is the track listing:

1. Gold Soundz - Pavement
2. Viewmaster - Eric's Trip
3. Over your shoulder - Dinosaur Jr
4. All Sideways - Scarce
5. From a Motel6 - Yo La Tengo
6. Untitled - Six Finger Satellite
7. Car Song - Madder Rose
8. Lowest Part is Free - Archers of Loaf
9. Tragic Carpet Ride - Polvo
10. Dump - Small 23
11. Untitled - Green Magnet School
12. I Send My Love To You - Palace Brothers
13. Surf Wax America - Weezer
14. Sick of Heaven - Sleepyhead
15. Skills of the Star Pilot - Butterglory
16. Sorry Again - Velocity Girl
17. Love Theme From Santo Gold - Lotion
18. Awaiting Eternity - Rose Chronicles

I must have listened to "Awaiting Eternity" 3 times a day for at least 2 months, and it's like this overblown goth song. I listened to nothing but Dinosaur Jr for about half of the year. I don't think I bought anything by a British band (despite being British).

So, what would your honest 1994 mix cd consist of?

oh and if anyone does know the song titles from the Six Finger Satellite/ Green Magnet School split single, I'd be very grateful!

i would have been 10. i had one tape of science fiction tv and movie themes. so, I guess it would have mainly science fiction tv and movie themes and 'informer.'

I was 10, too! "Informer" rocked my world!! It was all about Snow, Weezer & Green Day.

Probably alot of slint, a bit of Sebadoh, Hawkwind, miles davis, the cramps, and lots of local Hobart acts because that was what you did then. I was stoned and drunk and in lounge rooms a lot. I would have turned 26 that year. ooops, I'm so old I should stop listening to Kid 606
