I can sing 2 New Riders songs from memory ("Panama Red" and "Lonesome LA Cowboy") but have none of their albums. I would be quite surprised if they were actually better than the Dead but I like 'em all right

yeah, it's a nice summertime listen. lacking slightly in the lyrics dept., maybe but oh well. meg baird does a great "all i ever wanted"
