What would everyone here say are some of the best pop/r and b or mainstream hip hop records since 2000? I know this board is frequented by p4k writers and fans, but even they like pop music.

Gukbe, Wednesday, 14 September 2011 04:15 (fourteen years ago)

Robbie Williams - Rudebox

Also, I don't care what anyone says. I still think that first Lady Sovereign album is good and/or fun.

prego, Wednesday, 14 September 2011 08:52 (fourteen years ago)

ok but tuomas why did you jizz on that album cover during the previous decade and leave it there deathdrone style?

Ravaging Rick Rude (a hoy hoy), Wednesday, 14 September 2011 09:46 (fourteen years ago)

xp, yep - Granda was my favourite album of 2010.

A little bit like Peter Crouch but with more mobility (ShariVari), Wednesday, 14 September 2011 10:15 (fourteen years ago)

Granda is a nice album but IMO overhyped. nonetheless, pleased to see a mention of Brodka on ILM of all places!

V79, Wednesday, 14 September 2011 10:47 (fourteen years ago)

The best dancey-pop record with multiple charting hit singles since 2000 is Justin Timberlake "Justified."

All American Rejects - Move Along
Panic at the Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out
The Killers - Hot Fuss
Weezer - Maladroit
Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American
Robyn - Body Talk

Ban me fucker. DO IT

billstevejim, Wednesday, 14 September 2011 16:56 (fourteen years ago)

I was considering "Oops I Did It Again" but I just remembered that it includes that *thing* .. posing as a cover of "I Can't Get No Satisfaction."

billstevejim, Wednesday, 14 September 2011 17:06 (fourteen years ago)

lol that AWK album is the same song for 30 minutes. but WHAT A SONG!

Gukbe, Wednesday, 14 September 2011 17:08 (fourteen years ago)

Lately I've been considering "I Get Wet" the album that foreshadowed a lot of the party-centered pop of the past 2-3 years.. for better or worse, he kind of invented a genre.

billstevejim, Wednesday, 14 September 2011 17:10 (fourteen years ago)

It's fairly insane that Avril Lavigne's "The Best Damn Thing" hasn't been mentioned yet.

Been thinking of starting a thread on this but I know it will consist of me saying "this is fab and not just moombahton" and then lots of pictures of her looking hot before having to defend the vacancy and utterly tonelessness of her voice.
