i'm trying to think of an old (probably german) trance record from maybe 94-96? i just know it as being called 'Norman', and nothing else? anyone know what this might be?

In what context - from an old liveset or something? Something to do with John B. Norman (didn't he remix some Miss Shiva track)?

yes, it looks like it. it just popped in my head the other day. i wonder which one of these it could be. 'The Big Deal' possibly. wouldn't it be strange if this track turned out to be that sven/marco z one i was wanting to know about

although, having a look on the web i found something called 'The Troll EP' by Norman, on Synewave records. the thing i remember didn't sound like a Synewave 12 though, definitely German (or possibly Dutch)

That "The Troll" EP is by "Norman Santos", so it seems...anyway if it's that old I doubt it's Dutch - until circa 1996 *very* few Dutch trance tracks got significant rotation, while the Germans were firing on all cilinders...

By the way Gareth, I *finally* remembered what Westbam's "Oldschool, Baby" is based on. It's his own "Hold Me Back" from '91.

i heard the norman santos track on a damon wild mix cd. it is certainly not that. the mopre i think about it, it must be the other Norman. The Big Deal is the most likely candidate. now the next thing is, does anyone have this track?

You don't know "Hold Me Back"???? Should be right up your alley though, proceed to Soulseek/WinMX immediately, and compare this to the instrumental mix of "Oldschool, Baby". The big question is, did Westbam rip off LFO "LFO" for "Hold Me Back", or the other way round?

And for "The Big Deal", why don't you contact Norman Feller himself?
