Impossible. Well, nearly. I can rule out "Party Train," and "Outstanding" is almost borderline ballad in this company. Otherwise, no wrong answer.

this might be the greatest album of all time...

OOPS! UPSIDE YOUR HEAD! OOPS UPSIDE YOUR HEAD!

How could Outstanding not win this, despite the high quality of this act?

███★★★███ (PappaWheelie V), Friday, 23 September 2011 19:58 (fourteen years ago)

between "Outstanding" or "Early in the Morning" (anyone remember Robert Palmer's rather good cover?).

The insanely long 12" of "You Dropped a Bomb on Me" is one of the finest moments of American minimalism. I'm sorta surprised someone like Alan Licht never namechecked it (seeing as he did some wankery with a Donna Summer song a few years back).

early in the morning

Love every song, voted "Bomb." Isn't it like 13 minutes on this? Maybe more than I need, but still.

Prostetnic Vogon Limbaugh (Dan Peterson), Friday, 23 September 2011 22:22 (fourteen years ago)

I voted for Burn Rubber but have to agree with everyone else here that all the tracks are great.

(anyone remember Robert Palmer's rather good cover?)

I certainly do, it was probably the best part of Heavy Nova.

i love how many of these songs open with sound effects (bomb dropping, rubber burning, rooster crowing)

voted for "Early In The Morning"

some dude, Friday, 30 September 2011 01:40 (fourteen years ago)

haha i forgot about "Party Train" starting with train sounds!

i interviewed Charlies Wilson a while back, i wish i had asked him why his solo records don't feature more sound effects
