Have enjoyed this on the couple of spins I've given it. The Live In Gothenburg album makes them sound like a great live act too, especially the second track that just keeps bubbling away until it hits boiling point right at the end.

i like this! and it's not what i expected (based on the name and the fact that it's not very-much-in-character lex music). it makes me think vangelis + reich.

hardcore oatmeal (Jordan), Monday, 26 September 2011 19:12 (fourteen years ago)

yeah i wish i'd been in london to see them live the other night.

i didn't really know what to expect when i first played it, i think something about it made me *know* it would sort my hangover out that day, and it did.

One of these dudes worked on the Fever Ray album right? That's a tick in my book.

This is pretty great. I hear a lot more Tangerine Dream than Reich, just know that these guys will be doing soundtrack work eventually.

I saw these guys at Cafe Oto last week, they killed live. There was a hell of a lot more energy than I expected, did a big trancey encore that had me gurning into my IPA

This record is really good, reminds me of a more sombre Delia & Gavin.

Hmm...I remember thinking their s/t was underwhelming but given the love I should check the new one out.

psychedelicatessen (seandalai), Wednesday, 28 September 2011 18:23 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah, I really liked the live EP and the album seemed really engaging on first listen but it's the sort of thing that I'm guessing you need to spend a lot of time with.

one month passes...

have played this twice now and think it's really wonderful (that second-to-last track is esp. a killer)

GREENS (the putting kind) (donna rouge), Friday, 18 November 2011 08:16 (fourteen years ago)

Really like this but not sure I could take it with a hangover, it's way too wibbly for that.

Matt DC, Friday, 18 November 2011 09:06 (fourteen years ago)

Is it much different from the album they released about a year ago?

Glo-Vember (dog latin), Friday, 18 November 2011 12:14 (fourteen years ago)

I'd say it's different in the sense of being better, anyway. Didn't think much of the previous one, this one is pretty good.

questino (seandalai), Friday, 18 November 2011 13:51 (fourteen years ago)

i like this a lot but it is kind of lengthy and distant so it's hard to pin its place on my year-end list

but whatever it rules

mutant slow drum (BradNelson), Friday, 18 November 2011 16:17 (fourteen years ago)

six months pass...

I don't understand how their stuff would help a hangover when it sounds like the sweaty, exhausted, roughest parts of the morning after the night before. That isn't a criticism though - this new album sounds so raw and strung-out, really intense without the sense of opulent "epicness" that similar stuff often falls victim to.
