Keith Richards recounts an evening in the Marais

"That was when I was living in Paris. We had this thing with my daughter, every Friday she'd meet me for dinner, at least me, sometimes Patti. It was just down the steps. And one night after dinner she says she wants to show me something. Some new band, and I'm like fuck off, love, really, what do I want with that? But she gets me down there and it's this... I don't know what you'd call it, they wasn't a proper band. There was an Oriental bloke with an electronic box and this amazing girl singing. She was a knockout. She had on a catsuit and hair up to here and had a real husky, soul voice and she could just really purr it out you know? Like a cat, ha ha. I wasn't sold on the music. It just sounded like thumpy nonsense, the same stuff you hear in adverts all over the world. But they had a look, an energy. So I didn't leave right away like I usually do. Well, and then I took that little pill, yeah, my own daughter gave it to me, can you... ha ha. And that was that. Yeah. That's how I became a fan of Dee-Lite."

This was actually a dream I had last night. I was watching a documentary of him saying this to an interviewer.

I'm betting that something very similar has actually happened to Keith.

One time I saw Ron Wood on the other side of the river in the Musee D'Orsay. That was no dream.
