Talking Heads' Remain In Light cover was meant to be the reverse and the reverse the cover.

xp yeah you can't beat it can you? young fired up, hungry, skint band in charity shop clothes, sat about waiting for fame on the tube. the whole mood of that pre-britpop era is sotally summed up for me by that painting.

my copy of Diamond Dogs doesn't contain that fold-out image.

I can't find it online, but the booklet of Andrew WK's The Wolf has this great photo of him sitting at the keyboards and giving a big grinning thumbs-up to the camera, so much more appealing than the somber "Mature Album" suggested by the cover. I flipped it around in the jewel case and in my mind the thumbs-up one is the cover.

the flip cover of mark eitzel's west (photograph of some ships taken by mark, which is what he submitted for the artwork) is hundreds of times better than the cover WB made him use, which is of his face. I flipped that around in the case years ago and it's still the cover in my mind.

Neil Young "On the Beach" inside of the sleeve (not inner sleeve) floral pattern that matches underside of the umbrella on the front cover.

Not sure this qualifies, but with classic Ohio Players, the ostensible front cover is only half of the picture.

that Pylon one is the winner of this thread so far; an amazing example of a lousy cover and an amazing inner!
