Because:
Back whenever, I knew the 'theme from TOTP' and the hits they had at the time. "Tap turns on the Water" and so on.
Then I was amazed to find that the theme was in fact a cover of Led Zep's "Whole Lotta Love". Because although the riff and music was the same, there was no vocal and the emphasis was different, so I didn't even think it was that similar.
Anyway, the 'received wisdom' was that CCS 'were crap' and LedZep were fantastic. Which seemed all wrong to me.
Anyway, I was able to get inexpensive copies of their three albums recently, and it sounds wonderful to me.
Some of it is hippie bol, and I can understand that Alexis Korner's singing on "black Dog" isn't quite as good as percy, but hey.
And yet, I search ILX and not only is there no thread, there's only one actual mention of them at all.

I have major love for "Tap Turns On The Water" and "The Band Played The Boogie". I bought a comp CD of theirs a while ago, must revisit.

Ah, here's "Boom Boom", the 1970 B-side to "Whole Lotta Love". Gosh, did its intro inadvertantly invent Glitterbeat?
