So this debuted last week in Brooklyn and ran for eight shows. I saw it Friday and it was really pretty great.

Nine original tracks, music by Nick Zinner, Money Mark, a bunch of other people ... amazing visuals and intense costumes by Christian Joy and KK Barrett (who apparently was in the Screamers? didn't know that until yesterday, he worked on Where the Wild Things Are and a bunch of Charlie Kaufmann/Spike Jonze stuff). Music ranged from glammy rock to mod hand-claps to dreamy ballads / duets to harmonic chorus drones and ambient rumbles to (my personal fave) a jumping '60s Serge Gainsbourg type number with a sick bassline. David Lynch and Jodorowsky came to mind in some of the costuming and the general dream-state weirdness. Also Tarsem Singh a little bit, for me.

Can't imagine they won't make some kind of CD / DVD release out of this.

Thought of bumping a Yeah Yeah Yeahs thread but this is kind of its own thing.

Maybe Selzer and LaurenP will jump in here, I know they both saw it.

Pinky's Dream, her song on the David Lynch album, is great BTW

she looked like she was thoroughly enjoying every minute of it.

one thing I liked about it was that it seemed like everyone was having a blast, even during the parts that were sort of dark
